Having a destination wedding is one of the best experience my husband and I have ever had. My guests are still talking about their experience over Valentine’s Day weekend 2015.
Below are the key questions you should be asking to get a good understanding of what it will take to have your destination wedding of your dream.

- How do I pick the right resort or location for my wedding? ( There are so much information available- How do I decide? Do I want all-inclusive? (Much better for you and your guests) Best countries to get married? (Caribbean-Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican Republic (Better pricing and options for your guests)
- How do I check the availability for my wedding date? Who do I contact?
- What kind of wedding am I planning on having? (Symbolic or Legal )
- What are the requirements to get married in that country?( documents required, number of days I have to be in country before I can get married)
- How much does wedding packages cost (what’s included- How do I get that information?)
- How will I plan my actual wedding at the location (Can I trust they will do a good job?)(Site unseen?
- Cost of accommodations (will it be affordable for my guest)
- Accessibility of flights for easy travel to location
- Customer service at the resort (What can I expect when I get there?)
- How do I plan events for the whole weekend—not just the wedding
- Check local laws or resort before hiring vendors from the U.S or outside resort.
- How will I be able to coordinate my guests travel plans and my wedding at the same time
There is a lot that goes into planning a destination wedding and making sure that everything will happen as planned. Most stress comes from not knowing until you’re at the resort.
