Now that you have decided on a Destination Wedding the next steps are to invite all your friends and family to attend.

If you are planning on inviting more than 20 guests to attend your wedding, should you get a contracted room block?

Let me explain the different options and you can decide which options will work best for you.

A Contracted Room Block- is a Group Room Contract that secures a specific set of rooms at a specific rate for your and your guests attending your wedding.  It will require a deposit by the couple to secure all the rooms at time of contract.

A Flexible Group- does not require a contract. There will be a Group Code that links all the reservations together. All rooms have to be booked from the same vendor and a deposit is required from each guest at time of booking. There are no rooms being held for the guest and prices are based on current rates. Chances of rooms being sold out.

No Room Contract– all guests can book their rooms through any travel website (Direct with resort, Expedia, Bookit, Costco, etc). Couples have to keep track of all the guest bookings and there will be No Comps or Perks associated with the rooms booked. This will leave a lot of money on the table for the couple.
